Future wireless 'Net to change telecom

WASHINGTON, July 24 (UPI) -- Emerging wireless data links could force entrenched telecommunications companies to remake themselves drastically in order to escape their current slump, researchers from the famed Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab said Wednesday. The new technology quickly and efficiently would replace the centralized networks now generating telecom revenue, they said.
