Moon mission could make own solar cells

GALVESTON, Texas, June 26 (UPI) -- Using nanotechnology developed on Earth, future Moon explorers should be able to turn the lunar soil into solar energy sources for a long-term habitat, a researcher said Wednesday at a conference. Nanotech's ability to manipulate matter at the atomic scale could overcome impurities that would doom an earthbound solar cell, he said.
