New self-healing plastic for electronics

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- A new transparent organic plastic made by University of California-Los Angeles researchers can heal itself when cracked, mending fractures repeatedly under simple heating and cooling conditions. The scientists hope to use the material in self-repairing lenses, to make sturdier electronics as well as in construction material.
