New blood test for ovarian cancer

BETHESDA, Md., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- A new computer-based algorithm may help detect ovarian cancer in its early stages via a simple blood test, medical scientists report in the British journal The Lancet. The researchers, from the Food and Drug Administration and National Institutes of Health, say the test also may help find other cancers in their early stages and even screen for exposure to diseases like anthrax.
