Long-delayed probe to scout solar flares

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- After 18 months of delays, a NASA satellite designed to help scientists dissect the inner workings of solar flares is scheduled for launch Tuesday from aboard an air-launched Pegasus rocket. The High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager is to spend two to three years imaging X-ray and gamma ray emissions from violent explosions in the sun's atmosphere.
