Long recovery from mass extinction seen

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla., Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Scientists will finally get a closeup view of Pluto -- the only planet in the solar system unvisited by a spacecraft. NASA on Thursday selected a mission called New Horizons lead by researchers at the Southwest Research Institute; Johns Hopkins University's Applied Physics Laboratory is a partner in the project, funded at $30 million for its first year.
