Attacks heighten gas pipeline debate

WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Senators at a committee hearing Tuesday said a proposed natural gas pipeline, from Alaska through Canada and into the continental United States, is more important than ever for national energy security after the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Much of the testimony focused on what route the pipeline should take.
