The Environmental Protection Agency declared a public health emergency in and near Libby, Mont., where asbestos contamination has left hundreds dead or sickened from lung diseases.

WASHINGTON, June 17 (UPI) -- A public health emergency exists at the Libby asbestos site in Montana, two U.S. environment and health agencies said Wednesday.
