U.S. Jobless Rate Hits 8.9%, but Pace Eases

Japan September jobless rate eases

TOKYO, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Japan's September jobless rate eased to 4 percent from 4.2 percent in August, due largely to jobless men giving up their job search, the government said Friday.
