Tigers 6, Cardinals 3

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Rookie Rick Porcello won for the seventh time in nine starts and the Detroit Tigers shook off an offensive drought with a four-run first inning, beating the St. Louis Cardinals 6-3 on Thursday night to avoid a three-game sweep.
