Wanted man dissatisfied with mug shot sends police a 'better photo'

LIMA, Ohio, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- An Ohio man wanted by police sent investigators a new picture because he was dissatisfied with the mug shot being circulated on social media.

The Lima Police Department said in a Facebook post Donald A. "Chip" Pugh, 45, is wanted on a failure to appear charge and is a person of interest in crimes including arson and vandalism.

The post includes a picture "sent to us by Mr. Pugh himself. We thank him for being helpful, but now we would appreciate it if he would come speak to us at the LPD about his charges."

"Here is a better photo, that one is terrible," text on the photo sent by Pugh reads.

Pugh explained his decision to submit the photo when he called in to WEGE-FM and spoke with hosts Phil Austin and Ryan Staley.

"Man, they just did me wrong," Pugh said. "They put a picture that made me look like I was a Thundercat or something."
