SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- He might not have played in the NBA All Star Game on Sunday, but a man from Springfield, Mo., certainly put on a show on the basketball court over the weekend.

During halftime at the College of the Ozarks vs. Bellevue men's basketball game on Saturday, Michael Quinn drained a three-pointer and won himself free McDonald’s for a year.

Quinn was able to nail the shot even though he’s blind.

According to KSPR 33, that’s not first time the 54-year-old hit a shot from downtown.

"I like basketball so much that a lot of times it's just being with the other athletes and thinking about how great it is to be able to play basketball," Quinn said. "I know that if I do my best then everything else will be okay.”

After going blind and losing much of his mental capacity in 2010, Quinn joined the Champion Athletes of the Ozarks last year.

"He would never have needed our program had the head injury not happened," said Susan Miles of the Champion Athletes. “We work with individuals with all types of disabilities, all types of developmental disabilities.”

In addition to helping him with his jumpshot, the organization is also assisting Quinn with learning how to swim.
