DELRAY BEACH , Fla., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Florida police shot and killed a naked man with "superhuman" strength who was in a “state of psychosis” on Tuesday night outside Delray Beach after he bit a teenager in the face and attacked several other people.

The names of the man and the victims have not been released.

According to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, the man attacked a retired New York City police officer, chased a man and his 10-year-old son, and then attacked an 18-year-old who was able to fight him off with a box-cutter.

"In fact he's actually biting the 18-year-old in the face. The 18-year-old thought he was trying to eat his face off," Bradshaw said. Three of the man’s victims ended up in the hospital.

The man looked "like an NFL linebacker” and was reportedly about 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighed about 250 pounds.

When deputies confronted the man, he "took a fighting stance" and charged. After a Taser was unable to stop him, a deputy fired three shots at the man. "He's obviously delirious on something," Bradshaw said.

The man died at the hospital after being hit once in his torso and twice in the lower body.

According to Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Teri Barbera, the man tried to get up after being shot and attempted to fight off the paramedics who tried to treat him.
