DES MOINES, Iowa, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- During this year’s Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival in Des Moines, Iowa, two couples said “I do” to each other and to bacon.

Bride Tricia Snider always wanted to get married in Las Vegas, but when she found out that the theme of this year’s festival was “Viva Las Bacon,” she happily settled for a private ceremony in the Jacobson Exhibition Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

“I said, ‘Sweet, we love bacon,’” Snider, 41, told The Des Moines Register. Snider and Tom Watson’s vows included the phrase “in good times and bacon.”

“She’s second only to bacon,” said Watson, 47.

The host of Travel Channel’s Bacon Paradise, Adam Poch, officiated the wedding. “When things are meant to be, they just happen,” Poch said. “The rings are real, but they should have been made out of bacon.”

For the reception after the Bacon Festival, Watson smoked six pork loins and wrapped them with six pounds of bacon. “What an awesome reception,” said a friend of the couple.

Craig and April Rouch were married after the Watsons in the public arena.

The Bacon Festival took up two buildings and had about 12,000 attendees.
