EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- While speaking at the podium after receiving the Super Bowl MVP award, Seattle linebacker Malcolm Smith was interrupted by someone who wanted to talk about something other than the Seahawks 43-8 victory over the Denver Broncos.

A 9/11 “truther” got on the microphone and told the audience, "Investigate 9/11. Nine-eleven was perpetrated by people in our own government."

Smith handled the interruption like a professional and proceeded with the interview. It was believed that the man, identified as 30-year-old Matthew Mills, was arrested.

The MVP of Super Bowl XLVIII won the award after intercepting a Peyton Manning pass and returning it for a touchdown. Smith, the No. 242 choice in the 2011 draft, also recovered a fumble during the game.

"You dream of winning the Super Bowl," Smith said after the game. "But MVP? No. You put in the work and hope it's enough. But, recently, you appreciate every opportunity that comes to you."
