Florida student who was suspended for starring in porn allowed to return to school

"I feel like I have been treated unfairly and this is unjust," says 18-year-old student. "This was completely legal. I didn't break any laws, and this took place out of the school."

A Florida high school senior who was kicked out of school for starring in porn to help pay his family’s bills will be allowed to return to class.

Cocoa High student Robert Marucci said he was given the boot by the Brevard County School District for his role in an adult film, but the district allowed him to come back to the classroom on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old began working in porn to “help my mother out economically” and Melyssa Lieb knew what he was up to.

"I think he's the most awesome person in the world," she told WKMG. "He stood up and he was the man of the house when I couldn't be."

"No child would ever be suspended for a job that they have outside of the school environment," said district spokesperson Michelle Irwin. "In this particular case, we had an investigation, which is now complete, and the student is welcomed to come back to talk to Dr. Sullivan about his educational options.”

The district maintains that Marucci was not suspended for his appearance in the adult film, but rather for threats he allegedly made after other students found out about his after-school job and began taunting him.

Students held a walkout on Friday in support of Marucci and he will likely still be able to graduate in May.

"I feel like I have been treated unfairly and this is unjust," Marucci said. "This was completely legal. I didn't break any laws, and this took place out of the school."
