The burger’s inventor, Keizo Shimamoto, combines elements of American cuisine and Japanese flavor to create a savory sandwich that comes with a Ramen noodle bun, beef patty, arugula, scallions and, of course, secret sauce. I actually quit my job as a programmer and moved there to really study ramen 'cause I have a blog called, ‘Go Ramen’ 'cause I am just crazy about ramen.” In order to bring the unique food to the island, a pop-up Ramen Burger shop opened on Wednesday in Honolulu and started selling sandwiches for $10 a pop until they ran out. It didn’t take long to sell the 700 or so burgers that were prepped. "As the Ramen Burger has become more popular, we always wanted to come to Hawaii," Shimamoto said. Jeanne Hill got in line three hours before the burgers went on sale to make sure she would get a taste. "Oh my good. It's good. It's good. It's worth the wait," Hill told KITV.
