Portland pimp sues Nike because Air Jordans aren't labeled as 'dangerous weapons'

A Portland pimp has filed a lawsuit against Nike because he says the pair of Air Jordans he was wearing while stomping a man’s face to a bloody pulp should have had been labeled as “dangerous weapons.”

Sirgiorgiro Clardy, 26, earned a 100-year prison sentence after being convicted of second-degree assault. In addition to the stomping, Clardy was also found guilty of robbing the man and beating an 18-year-old woman so badly that she bled from her ears.

Clardy filed the complaint from the Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution.

According to the suit: "Under product liability there is a certain standard of care that is required to be up-held by potentially dangerous product. Do (sic) to the fact that these defendants named in this Tort claim failed to warn of risk or to provide an adequate warning or instruction it has caused personal injury in the likes of mental suffering."

He is requesting that the company be required to attach warning labels to "potentially dangerous Nike and Jordan merchandise."

During his trial, Clardy yelled expletives at the judge, prosecutors and jurors and was deemed by a psychologist to be an anti-social psychopath who was 100 percent likely to commit violent crimes again.

Nike will have the opportunity to respond to the suit.
