During an argument with three strangers, a drunken woman from Wales got so upset that she tried to take a bite out of their car.

To everyone’s surprise, Rhian Jeremiah’s attempt to sink her teeth into the metallic roof of the Fiat 500 was a success as the passengers of the car heard “metal crunching” when she bit down.

Selina Day, 23, and two friends were parked near a fast food restaurant when 26-year-old Jeremiah approached. She was “aggressive and angry” after drinking at a memorial for her recently-drowned boyfriend. Jeremiah was reportedly retracing the steps of Simon Jones on what would have been his birthday.

“She came up to the car and tried to rip the door open. I couldn’t understand her, she was drunk and abusive,” Day said. “There was a bit of an argument and she sunk her teeth into the part of the car above the window. I could hear the metal crunching.”

The damage to the car’s metal work cost hundred of dollars to repair and Jeremiah was found guilty of causing criminal damage.

"My client was the worse for drink that night. She was clearly upset,” said Jeremiah’s lawyer, David Folland.

She was sentenced to a 12-month community order and will be required to attend 20 alcohol abuse counseling sessions.

"You have used alcohol inappropriately to deal with your issues,” chairman of the bench Ian Roffe told Jeremiah.
