Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Instead of mediocre pizza and flat soda, punches and harsh words were going around at the Chuck E. Cheese's in Fort Myers, Fla., on Saturday when a brawl broke out between two large families.

A witness who was at the family hotspot with her two young children saw what started the incident and witnessed the aftermath.

According to Ashley, two children started arguing over prize tickets and the conflict escalated to the point that their parents became physical. "The two family members just got into a big brawl. All of the family members were hitting each other," she said. "Food was flying and drinks then she took the metal thing off the table and threw it.”

During the incident, which involved about 10 to 15 people on each side, one of the family members used pepper spray. "We were coughing and stuff. So when the cops got there, we went outside and left. I just wanted to make sure it was safe," Ashley said. "I was just thinking a gun was going to come out next. Thankfully it didn't."

Chuck E. Cheese’s corporate office released the following statement:

"We are deeply saddened that individuals would choose to behave in this manner in front of children and families. We take altercations in our stores very seriously and have spent more than $15 million to date on measures to help ensure the safety of our guests. As an environment dedicated to serving young children and families, Chuck E. Cheese's will not tolerate violence of any kind in our stores."

The Fort Myers Police Department did not make any arrests following the incident.
