Jan. 6 (UPI) -- It took 20 minutes to free a naked man from a washing machine after a game of hide-and-seek he was playing with his partner took an embarrassing twist.

It took police, firefighters, paramedics and Shepparton Search and Rescue Squad members a little while to figure out the best way to free the 20-year old. Rescuers eventually used olive oil to free the man from the top-loading washing machine.

“Emergency services were called to a house in Helmer Street. A 20-year-old man required assistance after being trapped in a washing machine,” said a spokesperson for the Victoria police. “He was transferred to Goulburn Valley hospital for observation.”

Interestingly, he’s not the only person to get stuck in a washing machine while playing hide-and-seek. An 11-year-old recently found herself in a similar situation and the story quickly went viral. Fortunately for her, she was clothed.

“He was very well wedged in there and we were concerned for his health and wellbeing,” said Shepparton police Sergeant Michelle De Araugo. “It was just a game gone wrong. It would be fair to say the gentleman was very embarrassed.”
