A 76-year-old Florida man was arrested on charges of battery and aggravated battery on a person over 65 years old after he allegedly pushed his wife and broke her hip during an argument about his use of a dating website.

Sheriff's deputies arrested and booked Edward Aronson after a nurse at Bethesda Hospital West called the police when she allegedly heard him on the phone talking about pushing his wife.

Aronson's 77-year-old wife became so upset when she found him looking at a dating website that she slapped him in the face. Aronson then allegedly shoved her to the floor and she broke her hip.

"She accused me of cheating and was yelling at me, so I pushed her," Aronson allegedly said during the call overheard by the nurse. The nurse also told deputies his wife was looking at him in what she says was fear.

When deputies arrived at the hospital, Aronson "freely" admitted to shoving his wife and she owned up to slapping him in the face. Neither party would give formal statements about the incident.

"After 33 years of marriage, I cannot believe it," the woman told deputies.
