Gamboa figured the bag contained chocolates and simply tossed it onto the passenger seat. The 13-year veteran cabbie notified his dispatcher about what he had found and then headed back to Yellow Checker Star Transportation’s main office. In order to help track down the rightful owner of the money, Checker Star called in the Las Vegas Police Department. One person without identification showed up to claim the cash, but Checker Star didn’t want to hand over the money without proper ID. The police now believe that the money belongs to a prominent poker player who hasn’t been identified at this time.
