The group is hoping viewers will sign a petition asking Congress to abolish the spy agency’s surveillance programs. The petition, which has a goal of 60,000 signatures, is just shy of 49,000. “We now know that this holiday season, our private communications aren't as private as we thought. While we're calling, texting, emailing, and visiting our friends and loved ones, the NSA is tuning in and collecting massive amounts of data on millions of Americans,” the petition reads. “Thanks to the revelations from Edward Snowden, each week we get new proof that the NSA has vastly overstepped its authority… So we need to turn up the pressure on Congress, which blindly gave the NSA too much spying power in the first place.” Advertisement @baratunde: From #NSA is Coming to Town to Let it Snowden, Let it Snowden, Let it Snowden - some holiday cheer: http://t.co/mi9wgIGMdL— ACLU Action (@ACLU_Action) December 17, 2013 The lyrics could use a little work: “They're making a list, Checking it twice; They're watching almost every electronic device, NSA is coming to town” [ACLU] Read More Florida man cited for trying to trade four-foot alligator for 12-pack of beer Lindsay Lohan wants to reignite singing career Mega Millions jackpot jumps again to $636 million Another Aaron Hernandez associate dies under shady circumstances Caroline Biden, VP's niece, enters treatment to avoid jail after alleged attack on NYC cop
