House Rules Chairman Pete Sessions is hoping to cash in on Beyoncé’s surprise release of her new album last Friday by raising money via a fundraiser at the popular singer’s concert in Washington on Wednesday.

According to the invitation for the Dec. 18 fundraising event for the Texas Republican, tickets cost $1,000 for individuals and $2,500 for PACs.

It seems a little contradictory that Sessions would attempt to use “The Mrs. Carter Tour” to raise cash considering that Beyoncé and her husband, Jay Z, are both staunch supporters of President Obama, but you can’t knock his timing (or his hustle).

It was thought that there might be a possible Texas connection between Sessions and Beyonce, but that doesn’t seem to be the case as she is from Houston and he represents a district near Dallas.
