"They're pro gay marriage and other moral deviations, and now they're acting like bigots over a vibrator and a couple of handcuffs," resident says.

Dec. 13 (UPI) -- A Christmas tree that was erected on the streets of Milan and decorated with sex toys has lost its permit and will be removed.

MySecretCase, a website that sells sex toys for women, got approval from the local council for the tree, but it was apparently a little naughtier than people were expecting.

Representatives from MySecretCase were stationed at the tree to explain to passersby how to use the various toys.

“The nature of the project was not fully made clear in the request we received for authorization” read a note from the Milan council. “On the basis of this discrepancy, we have begun the process of canceling the project.”

Council member Chiara Bisconti added: “It is an initiative which makes people uncomfortable.”

“I paid almost 4,000 euros for the permit and my tree can not be removed before 20 days," said Mysecretcase co-owner Norma Rossetti. “It's much less vulgar than lingerie adverts or dancers you see on TV.”

Carlo Fidanza, an MEP from the Brothers of Canada, criticized Milan officials for "incompetence and hypocrisy." According to Fidanza, "They're pro gay marriage and other moral deviations, and now they're acting like bigots over a vibrator and a couple of handcuffs.”
