Dec. 12 (UPI) -- A young mother has been charged with child neglect after she was discovered passed out in her car at an intersection in Bradenton, Fla., with whippet canisters sprinkled throughout the car and her child in the back seat.

Police officers say that a good samaritan saw Jennifer Ann Lee asleep at the wheel and offered to drive her and her son to a safer spot.

The passerby drove the car to the 5100 block of North Tamiami Trail and called one of Lee’s friends. The friend phoned the police and informed them he had seen Lee "doing whippets" in front of him.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found several whippet canisters near Lee. After she got out of the car and was placed under arrest, police searched the vehicle and came up with 20 more whippet canisters.

Lee reportedly told police, "I was tired and it happens.” The 29-year-old was uncooperative and verbally abusive while officers read Lee her Miranda rights.
