Dec. 5 (UPI) -- In advance of the San Francisco 49ers home game against the first place Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, the team apparently sent a letter to fans reminding them that it would be cool if they, you know, like cheer and stuff.

When the Seahawks play at home, they have the so-called “12th man” advantage because their fans get so rowdy. San Francisco is hoping to capture a little bit of that mojo with their “The 49ers Home Field Advantage Plan for Gameday” instruction manual.

It’s unclear if dressing up in red and gold and chanting “Let’s Go Niners” will be enough to propel the team to victory over their division foes, but at least now fans will be prepared when the fog horn goes off after scoring plays.

Seattle handed San Fran a 29-3 loss in Week 2 of the NFL season.
