Nov. 19 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts man is being charged in the death of a woman who was killed after she was dragged by his pickup truck for more than three miles along Route 1.

During an incident that began around 10 p.m. Monday at the Arbor Inn Motel in Wrentham, police say that two men drove off in a pickup truck following a dispute about their bill. Investigators said the truck struck an employee of the motel and then his wife.

The victim, identified as housekeeper Kanchon Patel, was dragged for 3.2 miles in the northbound lanes before the truck was stopped by State Police outside Chickie Flynn’s restaurant in Foxboro. She did not survive the trip.

The two men were brought into custody and one of them, 22-year-old Moses Acloque, was arrested. Acloque has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. He is set to be arraigned on Tuesday in Wrentham District Court.
