(UPI) -- Lead singer Siavash “Obaash’’ Karampour and bassist Koory Mirz of Iranian rock band The Yellow Dogs took to social media on Tuesday to mourn the two members of the group who were killed in their Brooklyn apartment on Monday.
In addition to the two murdered band members who were murdered, brothers Soroush Farazmand and Arash Farazmand, Karampour and Mirz also bemoaned the loss of friend Ali Eskandarian.
The Farazmands and Eskandarian were fatally shot by fellow Iranian musician Ali Akbar Mohammadi Rafie at the group’s Williamsburg apartment early Monday. Rafie, who was upset about being kicked out of the band after stealing money and equipment, got off 12 shots before killing himself.
Karampour and Mirz tweeted about their bandmates' deaths.

They also updated the band’s Facebook page. “From Koory and Obash: Thanks every one for all your prayers and condolences. we’re still can’t believe this tragedy. R.I.P Arash Farazmand, Soroush Farazmand And ali eskandarian”
The band left Iran in 2010 so they could continue making rock music, and had been granted asylum in the U.S.
“It’s not a good situation.” said manager Ali Salehezadeh. "We’re just totally shocked and not in a good place right now."
