He got into a fight with his original driver about the cost of the ride. After the cabbie kicked him out, Nedeski paid the fare and told the cabbie that he was going to hail a new driver “because he didn’t like him.”
Nedeski then allegedly spent the next 20 minutes calling 911.
Officers responded to the scene and told Nedeski to stop calling the emergency number.
After he cursed at them, police tried to place Nedeski under arrest, but police say he refused to put his hands behind his back and pushed one of the officers. He was then pepper-sprayed and handcuffed.
It’s unknown whether Nedeski was impaired at the time of the incident. “Looking at the time of the day, it was early morning, that is a possibility, but I can’t say for sure whether he was under the influence,” said Capt. James Sarnicki. “He was just argumentative, what was causing him to be argumentative I can’t say for sure.”
Nedeski was charged with disorderly conduct and making a false 911 call. He is due in court on Halloween.
“People sometimes think that they can use 911 for all sorts of requests for service and what they don’t realize is that they are tying up a line which may be needed for a legitimate emergency,” Sarnicki said.
