Ellie Cole, the British woman who was filmed dancing at a bus stop earlier this year, got a role in a play at the The Point Theater after the clip went viral.

Cole's viral video was secretly shot and posted on the Internet by passerby Jane Rowland in April. Five months later the woman's street performance landed her a role in "AH Men."

"I'm just a normal everyday person who happens to like dancing at bus stops. Still to this day I find it hard to believe what happened with the video," Cole, 35, told the Telegraph. "It's like 'wow, why me?'"

Lynne Paris, the writer and director of the show, explained that she chose Cole because she likes to include local performers in her plays and she ran across her viral clip by chance.

"My son saw the video and he said 'you've got to see this mum, she's just like you.' Wherever I am, if there's music I find myself jigging along to it," Paris said. "I think anybody who likes music could identify with it."

"AH Men" is based in Paris's experience after finding out her husband wanted to become a woman. Cole is featured in the chorus line in the first act.

After Cole's performance last Saturday, the crowd reportedly got up and danced to ABBA's "Dancing Queen" in honor of her viral clip, which was set to that song. She later revealed that at the time the clip was shot she was actually dancing to Alesha Dixon's hit "Knock Down."

"I have my headphones in every day on the way back from work and I just can't help myself -- I just dance," Cole said.
