Federico's will offer free burritos in its newly sparkling restaurant. The outbreak only occurred at its Litchfield Park location, which voluntarily closed after word of the sickness spread.
The free burrito promotion falls on Mexican Independence Day.
While Federico's Mexican Food was closed, they brought in the "Queen of Clean," a TV cleaning personality that has been featured on Oprah, to be their "cleaning consultant."
She will be there for her free burrito now that the restaurant is spic and span. The Queen of Clean recorded a video about how she got the restaurant back to clean.
A food-safety law firm filed a lawsuit against the restaurant's parent company on behalf of several of the people that were sickened by E. coli. One of the men allegedly had what he called "grossly bloody bouts of diarrhea."
The free burritos do not combine well with the image of violent sickness, but the move is an effort to get people back in Federico's now that they are Queen of Clean-clean.
