The $1.8 million violin, which was stolen near a London train station in 2010, was found at a house in central England.
"We're delighted to have recovered the violin after a long and very complex investigation," said Detective Chief Inspector Simon Taylor, who led the hunt.
Taylor added that police forces and antique dealers helped with the investigation.
Two teens were arrested in 2011 in connection to the Stradivarius's theft. Its owner, renowned violinist Min Jin Kym said she was elated to learn it was found.
Stradivarius violins were made by the world's most celebrated violin maker, Antonio Stradivari, in the 1600s and 1700s. Kym's violin was made in 1696.
