July 11 (UPI) -- A 54-year-old man in eastern Tennessee has said that two of his neighbors stole more than $1,000 worth of stuff from his home using an unusual distraction.

Stephen Amaral was at home when the husband and wife came over. Once there, the woman asked to swim in his pool.

Amaral agreed, and the woman asked her husband to go home and get her cigarettes.

When he left, the wife asked permission to swim naked. She stripped down and skinny-dipped for 20 minutes in front of Amaral.

It was only after she left that Amaral discovered her distracting ploy.

"I went and got her a towel; she dried off and all of a sudden she was soaking wet again. I escorted her outside and invited her to church, but she said she didn't have time for that," Amaral said.

Amaral told the police that her husband must have gone through his home while he was watching her skinny-dip. More than $1,000 of goods was stolen from the house.

Police identified the suspects but have not yet made any arrests.
