May 14 (UPI) -- An electronic sign that was supposed to warn drivers on a Pennsylvania highway of an upcoming detour was hacked twice in one day to show a profane message.

Drivers on Interstate 95 Sunday in Ridley Park said they were surprised to spot the sign Sunday morning with a profane message instructing Delaware County to "suck" a certain male organ.

"I was going south," driver Terry Banet told WPVI-TV. "I saw it immediately and said 'OMG, this thing was hacked!' and then I laughed."

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said officials learned of the message about 10 a.m. Sunday and dispatched the Delaware County Maintenance Unit to correct the sign.

The crew reset the electronic sign, but it was soon hacked a second time and made to display the same message.

The sign was turned toward a wall while officials investigate.

"We are looking into the matter," a PennDOT representative told WCAU-TV. "It is not our sign and the contractor operates the sign within their construction zone."
