Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Police in California shared video from the rescue of a hawk that was struck by a car and ended up stuck in the vehicle's front grill. The Hawthorne Police Department posted a video on Sunday to Facebook showing a County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control officer holding the hawk that was removed from the grill of a vehicle. Advertisement Police said the driver told officers they struck the hawk on a freeway and discovered the bird was still stuck in their front grill when they got off the freeway and pulled over to assess the damage. The hawk was taken to South Bay Wildlife Rehab in Rancho Palos Verdes, where it is recovering from a broken leg.
