App helps McDonald's customers find a working ice cream machine

Nov. 6 (UPI) -- A new app is aiming to address one of the most common complaints among McDonald's customers: Finding a location with a working ice cream machine.

The Ice Check app, available for Apple iOS devices, allows users to search for their nearest McDonald's and the app will then reveal whether that location's ice cream machine is currently functioning.

Broken ice cream machines have long been one of the most common complaints about the fast food chain by online commenters.

Raina McLeod, the app's creator, said users who discover a McDonald's location's ice cream machine is on the fritz can report it in the app for other users to see.

"I came up with the idea for the app around a year ago, after a late night Oreo McFlurry craving went unfulfilled due to the ice cream machine being down," McLeod told BuzzFeed.
