"At first, I went to the 7-Eleven convenience store and bought two of the All Cash tickets," he said. "When I got home and scratched both of them, they weren't winners. I normally don't buy any more if I don't win but for some reason, I had a strange feeling I should go back and get another ticket."
The man said he went back to the 7-Eleven store and discovered they were sold out of the All Cash tickets.
Rather than give up or settle for a different ticket, the man decided to drive to the Sunset Restaurant in Glen Burnie for another All Cash ticket.
"The first thing I saw as I was scratching the ticket was a $5,000 prize on the first line," he said.
The man kept scratching and discovered his total prize was $50,000.
The winner visited lottery headquarters with his wife of 51 years in tow.
"My husband is one of the luckiest persons I know," the woman said. "Now, if he could only hit the Mega Millions!"
