Police in Nanning said the owners of a neighborhood daycare contained the approximately 3-foot reptile that showed up to the facility and panicked staff members. Police soon showed up to capture the uninvited guest. Advertisement Officers took the animal to Nanning City Wildlife Conservation Station, where it was identified as a Siamese crocodile. Police said they determined the crocodile had been kept as a pet by a resident living in apartments above the crocodile. The reptile was taken to the Nanning Zoo out of concern that it might escape again if returned to its owner. Police said it is illegal to keep crocodiles in Nanning without a special permit. It was unclear whether the apartment resident had a permit.
