Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Authorities in Texas responded to a home where a man cleaning up from the flood encountered a 9-foot alligator in his dining room.

Harris County deputy constables were called Friday morning to Brian Foster's home in Humble, near Lake Houston, on a report of an unusual intruder.

Foster told the deputy constables he and work crews were touring the flood damage to his home when they discovered the 9-foot gator in the dining room.

The deputy constables contacted the Texas Game Warden, which dispatched Jarred Pollard of Wildnernex Wildlife Control to the scene.

Authorities helped Pollard tape the gator's mouth shut and load it into his truck.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office tweeted the alligator "will be delivered back into this natural habitat soon."
