Aug. 31 (UPI) -- A YouTube comedian spent a brief time as the mayor of Hell on Wednesday before being impeached.

Elijah Daniel paid a $100 fee to become mayor of Hell, Mich. for a day after spending two days searching for a town willing to offer him a political office as a statement about U.S. President Donald Trump.

"As of today, August 30th, 2017 I am the legal mayor of Hell, Michigan. This is real. I am the mayor of Hell," Daniel said.

With his first act as mayor, Daniel issued a proclamation banning heterosexuals from the town.

"Growing up, I was always told that homosexuals would go to Hell," he wrote in the proclamation. "As of today, I am establishing new vetting measures to keep heterosexuals out of our town."

His measure also included an $84,000 "reproductive precautionary deposit" for heterosexuals living in Hell, heterosexual reparative therapy and a mandate that "hetero residents" that don't participate in the therapy participate in a public shaming while wearing a scarlet "H" and and cargo shorts.

About an hour after his bold legislation Daniel met the same fate as every other mayor of Hell and was promptly impeached.

"Although I enjoyed my time as mayor, I've been informed that I've been impeached as mayor of Hell. This will not effect my presidential run," he said.
