Menasha Mayor Don Merkes shared photos of dead fish strewn about Gilbert Trail and warned the mess may lead to a change in the area's policies regarding fishing. Unfortunately some people leave their mess for others, or think it's cool to do things like this." The photos taken on Sunday showed a large pile of dead fish left in the middle of a dock and others strewn about surrounding rocks and walkways in the area. A day after sharing the message seeking information about fishermen disrespecting the trail, Merkes found another pile of fish on the dock Monday night. "Not even 24 hours after we cleaned up their last mess they are at it again," he said. "Fish up and down the shoreline, in the pavilion, and at the bridge." "This community belongs to all of us, lets not let a few ruin it for everyone," he said.
