Witness snaps photos of car-surfing daredevil

June 6 (UPI) -- An astonished British man captured photos of an unusual and dangerous sight on the road -- a car driving with a young man clinging to the roof.

Paul Smith posted a series of photos on June 2 to the Newer Newquay group on Facebook showing the young man, wearing shots and flip-flops, on his stomach on the roof of the car as it drives away in Newquay, England.

"Minding my own business when......." Smith wrote.

"I think they came out of the McDonald's car park then headed off up the main road. Unless his mate stopped to let him off, he's probably still on it!" Smith told Cornwall Live.

Many commenters on Smith's post criticized the man for his unsafe behavior, while some defended the stunt as harmless fun.
