May 25 (UPI) -- A New Jersey police officer known as the "deer whisperer" helped lift a baby deer out of a storm drain.

Woodbridge Police Department shared video of officer Tim Majek climbing into the open storm drain to grab the small deer and lift it to safety.

"Way to go. This one is a cutie," the police department said.

The frightened fawn initially attempted to evade the officer who eventually got a hold of the deer's mid-section before climbing out of the sewer.

A self-proclaimed animal lover and 22-year veteran of the department, Majek has been credited with rescuing three deer this year.

After safely arriving on the surface with the bleating deer, Majek held the tiny animal in his arms as he posed for the camera and petted its scruff.
