"Pretty in pink and pearls, handsome in bow ties and tails, these adorable dogs are ready to dance the night away at The Grey Muzzle Organization's first-ever Senior Dog Prom," the shelter said.

Visitor's to Grey Muzzle's website can vote for their favorite dog in each category, and gather information about adopting the elderly canines.

Some of the dogs have been placed in forever homes, while several others are available for adoption through various animal shelters throughout the country.

"The Senior Dog Prom is a chance for older dogs to shine," Lisa Lunghofer, Grey Muzzle's executive director, told Today. "It's an opportunity to showcase senior dogs in a way that highlights their unique personalities and the joy they bring to our lives."

Voting for the prom court positions will run through May 31 and in addition to potentially finding a new home each winner will receive a copy of the book "My Old Dog: Rescued Pets with Remarkable Second Acts" and a Grey Muzzle "Together Forever" T-shirt.
