May 9 (UPI) -- Police in Ontario issued a safety warning after a video emerged showing a skater hitching a ride on the back of a semi truck.

The video, recorded by Kevin Taylor's dashboard camera, shows a person wearing in-line skates holding onto the back of a semi truck traveling down a Mississauga road without a trailer.

The footage, which Taylor posted to YouTube, shows the vehicle traveling at a high speed before the skater lets go and glides away.

Taylor wrote the skater was "risking life and limb" with the "stupid and dangerous" stunt.

Peel Regional Police said they are aware of the video, but aren't investigating it because a formal complaint hasn't been filed.

Constable Mark Fischer said the skaters can be fined $50 if they are caught hanging onto the back of a vehicle, which is a violation of the Highway Traffic Act.

"It's obviously extremely dangerous," Fischer told the The Mississauga News. "It's not something that anybody should be partaking in."
