May 9 (UPI) -- An "angry" bear apparently attracted by the smell of baking brownies was photographed peering into a Connecticut home through a sliding glass door.

Bob Belfiore of Avon said in a 911 call during the weekend that his neighbor was baking brownies when she saw the bear attempting to break into her home through the glass door.

"We have a bear attempting to get into a house and he's not afraid of noise, screaming or yelling or pounding," Belfiore said in the 911 call.

"My neighbor across the street just came over in a panic. She's a little old lady, screaming that a bear got on the back porch and is slamming on her glass door," Belfiore's wife said in a second 911 call.

Belfiore snapped photos of the bear climbing on the woman's deck to attempt to get in through another set of doors.

"He actually left the kitchen area and went to a second set of doors off the deck," Belfiore told WFSB-TV. "And I tried those and then went to a third set of doors into the living room and attempted to get into those."

He said the bear was able to get through a screen door, but was unable to gain entry to the house.

"Though it looks cute on the railing, this bear was angry about not being able to get at the food," Belfiore said. "It was a rather harrowing experience although it looks cute in the photos."

The homeowner said the bear has previously been spotted in her back yard.

Avon police said the bear had left by the time they arrived at the home. Officers with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection were not summoned to the scene, but they said the bear, which was clearly tagged, is known to officials and they plan to monitor it.
