Troopers Matthew Kane and Kyle Minnicucci attempted knocked on various doors attempting to find the llamas owners, but were forced to wrangle the long-necked creature.

"Trooper Kane then fearing for the llama's safety from passing vehicles, grabbed a rope from his cruiser and worked on his cowboy skills, and lassoed the llama!" Police said.

Police said horse farm owner Carrie Cruse was "instrumental" in the rescue as she transported the llama to her farm in a trailer after it became to fatigued to walk and agreed to board it temporarily.

"File this under, something you don't see everyday!" Police said.
