The Pearland Police Department said unit 187, a police patrol SUV, is being taken out of service for at least the next few weeks after a mother mourning dove built her nest at the base of the windshield and laid some eggs. The police department said the eggs are expected to hatch in about a week, and the babies will remain in the nest for another four weeks after that. The department said the SUV will remain out of service while police are "patiently waiting for mamma bird to have her eggs hatch and the little ones to fly the coop."
